| Re: TRIM Support Enabler for Snow Leopard
SSDs are being slightly more common than the hand of more affordable, but arguably not yet have widespread use and perhaps why operating systems do not offer many tools for optimization. For Mac OS X , is known to incorporate a tool called TRIM from Lion , but those who already have an SSD drive and want to reap its benefits in Snow Leopard can do this via a utility called TRIM Enabler. This is a small utility that all it does is adding a patch to the OS is completely safe and even recommended a couple of steps before use. For starters, TRIM Enabler offers the possibility of creating a backup of system files that will be changed, which is available through the button "Backup" and, in case you need to restore them-the "Restore". |

| Re: TRIM Support Enabler for Snow Leopard
The TRIM command at present supports merely Apple offered by SSDs, the corporation - together by means of the developer edition of Mac OS X 10.7 Lion in addition to a separate assemble of Snow Leopard. It can be seen this exacting 10.6-version, which can be found on the present MacBook Pro models, a exact kernel extension that modifies these and they are transplanted toward your personal Mac, it appears that TRIM support there as well activate - at least shows that at the system profiler. |

| Re: TRIM Support Enabler for Snow Leopard
Before you begin, as always, we recommend you check the status of your backup data. Now that you have checked the prerequisites, you can continue the procedure. Download TRIM Enabler and start the application. The new version, compared to the previous one, integrated backup and restore files that have changed during activation, so that you can restore the previous state, is always recommended for any substantial change to our operating system. After putting in place all the necessary precautions, you're ready to press the Patch button to make changes to system files that will enable the trim on your Mac. After the procedure, if after reboot you encounter errors, you can boot into safe mode to troubleshoot problems when you start the Mac and hold down the shift key enabler again uses TRIM to restore the configuration file to its previous state. |

The first developer preview of Mac OS X 10.7 Lion was also known that the support will last for the TRIM commands are finding their way. Quietly and secretly has Apple with the last update to Mac OS X 10.6 added support in this generation of the Apple operating system - but not activated. |

| Re: TRIM Support Enabler for Snow Leopard
The problem is that after the release of Lion not all SSDs are supported TRIM. Apple models only seem to be supported. But no solution, because TRIM Enabler can support all SSD drives regardless of manufacturer. The application state despite not running under OS X Lion does it without any problem and as you see in my OWC Mercury capture is enabled and compatible with TRIM. |

| Re: TRIM Support Enabler for Snow Leopard
Some user’s report that is of problems with use of the TRIM-enablers, ranging from extended starting times of failing applications to system instability. In case of problems helps temporarily to restart in “safe mode ", it must be held down the Shift key at startup. The developer is working already on a new version that also contains a button to disable the hack. The benefit of the TRIM command depends on the level and structure of the SSD and can accelerate at best, writes. |
