sad No audio for windows 7

yesterday I installed windows 7 to my emachine t5048 and when I updated it erased everything. The problem is it also erased the drivers for my speakers which are realtek ac'97s I then went online to find the driver and installed it and when I played a video the volume mixer rose as the video played but still no audio comes from my speakers .
Do i need to install the driver again or is their something else i could do any help is appreciated

Well, in the quick icon, can you check in the volume tab whether you have enabled the speakers or no till yet. If any other sound device such as headphone is selected then sound wont play from the speakers. Also you will have to disconnect other sound device in order to play sound from the speakers only.
