    Backtrack 5 Keyboard Layouts issue

My backtrack 5 Installer stuck at step 3 (keyboard)? Tried almost everything, burning iso again and again even download again, but same problem. Exist with backtrack 5GNOME 32-bit than I direct downloaded backtrack 5 KDE 32- as a challenge, but it stuck with this hopeless. What happens to my keyboard works well with USB, but I used to go to the next step is configuring the partitions.
    Any ideas?

    Re: BT5 Keyboard Layouts

    I have the similar trouble.
I'm stuck on step 3 ... I tried almost every way.
    1. He tried to "road guess"
    2. Changed the composition of the pen drive (4GB) Transcend and Kingston
    3. He tried three different laptops.
    4. GNOME tried 32 bit and 64 bit.
    5. He tried different types of designs as well.
At this point try a 32-bit on a pen drive of 16 GB.

    Re: BT5 Keyboard Layouts

Hey I tried above solutions. Following are error I’m getting.

    XDB Configuration

    • a bug in libxklavier library
    • a bug in X server (xkbcomp, xmodmap utilities)
    • X server with incompatible libxkbfile implementation

If you report this situation as a bug, please include:

    • The result of xprop -root | grep XKB
    • the result of gconftool-2 -R /desktop/gnome/peripherals/keyboard/kbd

    Re: BT5 Keyboard Layouts

I have this problem too. I think your problem is pen drive on internet many mistakes like this and many, if this is in bugzilla Ubuntu (or other similar system they have). I have 4 GB Emtec and I faced the similar difficulty. Flash alter and attempt to write, if well: / .change the pen drive and it will solve your problem. Kingston and scandisk doesn’t work. Much help on this difficulty could be appreciated, looking forward for someone reply

Re: Backtrack 5 Keyboard Layouts issue

    Hi guys,

anyone found a solution to this yet?
Im having the exact same problem with BT5R1 x64 KDE on a Toshiba X505.
I left the installer on for hours, still the same. It doesnt progress from step 3...

Any luck yet? Ive tried installing both from a USB and a DVD.

md5 checksum is ok by the way.

Any help is highly appreciated. Thanks.

In my case that was stuck on the same step but that was just for a few minutes and after that it continues. So you can try by canceling and restarting the installation again.

Has there been any fixes to for this issue? I have tried both version 5 and 5R1 on a 4 gig stick with no luck. It's not my keyboard that promps the lockup (I duplicated the error with a usb keyboard). The computer looks like it is processing, but when I view the processes via command line there is not much going on.

You need to mount at least one drive, for installer to work.
