MSI Wind U100 Netbook and Gentoo: Display not working

I am having MSI Wind U100 Netbook. I have installed Gentoo on the device of mine. Also I have installed Gnome. Well I have noticed that the external TV display is not working at all. Monitor is detecting but it did not working at all. I am unable to figure out whether there is an issue with the Gnome. Because this thing was working under KDE. Might be an issue with mapping Fn+F2? Let me know if you are having any thoughts on this particular matter. Thanks a lot in advance.

Looking at the situation I am suggesting that you should rule out the Gnome by simply booting from the LiveDVD and simply choose the Gnome from the KDM session. When you have selected new session from the KDM on LiveDVD and you have to hit enter so that you can login from the KDM so that you should start with set up. You should provide the password for the login so that you can begin with the Gentoo user on the system of yours.

I am suspecting followings might be the root cause of the problem.
  • Kernel which you have installed might be misconfigured.
  • Hardware events might not working properly
  • The packages which are necessary to make thing working might be missing on the system.

I am suggesting following thing which you should try and see whether it is working or not.
You have to execute the following command on the terminal.
Code:
grep -i edid /usr/src/linux/.config
then you should excute the following command.
Code:
CONFIG_FIRMWARE_EDID=y
Now run the following command.
Code:
emerge read-edid
finally you need connect the TV and Fn-Fn2 and run the following command on the terminal.
Code:
get-edid | parse-edid
I am hoping that it would be helpful to you.

udev is having the functionality of xorg-server-1.8. udev is also replacing hal into other applications with the variying speeds. I am having the hal use flag and also having hal into the default run level. There are still an issue with the function which is stop happening with the hal and devs might be writing hal out and udev is supposed to do new ebuild acquire with the udve capability. I am hoping that it would be useful to you.

Well I recommend that you should have VIDEO_CARDS="intel" in /etc/make.con. the kernel driver of the i915' for VGA compatible controller.
I recommend that you should run the below mentioned command which you should execute on the computer of yours.
Code:
emerge --unmerge xf86-video-fbdev xf86-video-vesa
then emerge the following
Code:
xorg-server $(qlist -IC x11-drivers)
now you should restart and execute the below mentioned command on the terminal.
Code:
wgetpaste /var/log/Xorg.0.log
lspci -k | wgetpaste
eselect opengl list | wgetpaste
I am hoping that it would be helpful to you.
