Duplicate / Backup Win 7 System

I use to make an exact backup / duplicate of my XP system disk using Maxtor. I'd buy a new hard drive every 6 months and make an exact backup.

Can't do it with Win 7.


How can I make an exact working copy of my Win 7 disk for back up.

You just need to use the system recovery tool in Windows 7 with the installation dvd options for recovering the system. Just follow the suggestions and create a system repair disc to backup windows 7 system given in this thread - Create a system recovery disk in Windows 7. Hope that helps

I also would like to be able to run from this hard disk - I'd like to move to a new hard disk every 6 months and put the old one as a backup.
