Unable to remove magnifier on my system

By mistakenly knock the keys on my laptop and the screen went shadowy. While i came back a few seconds all things are magnified, Web pages, toolbar, desktop, everything has been magnified. I think by mistake knock some kind of command hotkey to change the size of how everything is displayed. This is a real nuisance and I would fix it as soon as possible. I checked my screen resolution and am normal, 800 x 600. I read an article saying that the problem can be eliminated or hide desktop icons, but that does not work properly. I looked through the database and the Microsoft Help and Support Forum and Support and could not find anything that helped, and even pinpoint what my problem. I am running Windows Vista and all my graphics settings are on default. No matter what I try to show on the screen - the desktop, Web browsers, and any program - everything is magnified. When I try to adjust my browser extension using Ctrl + or -, only the contents of the browser window is re sized and the edge of the browser remain extended. How I can solve this issue?

I had the similar difficulty. It seems that when I get the cursor on the left side of the screen magnifier on and not be turned off until you reboot the system. I go behind the proposition to click on the control panel for easy access and choose the Optimize screen. Though, the magnifier is unchecked. I would like advice you the following things to resolve your issue, to do this follow the steps below:
First make click on the start and then go to the control panel. Now under the control panel select the display and under the display choose the setting. Now under the setting make display resolution as your requirement and after that make hit on the apply button and the make stroke on the ok button. I think you need to follow the below steps so that you can solve your issue. By doing this you can change your resolution i hope this will help you lot. First minimize the all program and then on the desktop make right click on that and then make hit on the properties. Now under the desktop properties go to the setting tab. Now under the setting tab you will get the screen resolution on the bottom, and here select your resolution and then make hit on the apply and then click on the ok button. I hope this will help you.
