    Error code 80072EE5, Windows Update fails on "Optional" items

    I'm having a problem doing a Windows 7 Update, optional elements. Items ranging from March 30, 2008 to 2003 23a, 2010. I am getting an error as "Some updates were not installed" with an error code: 80072ee5. This happens whether I can choose from 7 or each one individually. As soon as I click on "Get help with this error" there is a list of resolution for error codes, but not any of this specific code. Any advice on how to solve this problem is appreciated. Thanks!

    If you acknowledged a particular error message in Windows Update Web site, follow these steps:

    1. Open the log file windowsupdate.log in Notepad.
    2. On the Edit menu, click Search, and then locate the specific error message.

    Note The Web site shows the final error message. The final error message may have been caused by an error as described above in the log file Windowsupdate.log. Also, if you do not know that the error occurred in the Web site Windows Update or would like more information about a failure of automatic updates, finding the following keywords:

    * FATAL
    * WARNING

    Note : Not every one of warnings are serious errors. Begin with the deadly fault and then work on the top of the windowsupdate log file. log to make sure you have recognized the exact error message.

    As far as I know that such errors appears when you make any mistake while entering an address. 0x80072ee5 error is originated by an unacceptable address in the intranet Microsoft Update Services state a location "policy. While you may not have the WSUS settings, however, it appears that the policy settings have told customers that it where they get the updates - and set the URL is invalid.
