    Settings to Get updates for other Microsoft products on Windows 7

    Does anyone know how to script by design opt-in "to" get updates for other Microsoft products. "This is the button that appears in Windows Update for Windows 7. I would like to run an update for Forefront client, but this requires the user to manually click the" More Information "link that leads to Microsoft's site Update. This allows users in accordance with the terms of use and installation of Microsoft Update. In other words I agree with the terms of use and just want to automate the installation of Microsoft Update. This is anticipated for make use of it in an unattended installation of Windows 7 installation. Any help is appreciated.

    If you are using Microsoft products with Windows, you need not get the updates individually separate product. Windows Update actually comes with a built-in feature for updates to install MS products. This makes it much easier for you to get the updates in the background and install it on your list. These updates are under an optional upgrade that can be seen in Windows Update. Follow the steps to enable it :

    • Type Windows Update in Windows 7, click the Start Search box on the menu item that says "Windows Update"

    • Now in the left pane, click Change settings

    • Now find an item labeled Microsoft Updates: Dame updates for Microsoft products and verify the new optional software Microsoft when Windows Update.

    You can configure Windows to automatically install important and recommended updates and install important updates only. Significant updates offers major benefits such as superior security and reliability. Recommended updates can address non-critical problems and facilitate to advance your computing experience. Optional updates are not downloaded or installed automatically. If you do not wish for the updates are installed routinely, you can opt to be notified when updates are applied to your computer as a substitute. You would be able to download and install it manually, or you can configure Windows to automatically download updates, and after that notify you so you can install it yourself.

    Here I have provided the steps showing you how to change behavior of Windows installs or notifies you about updates:

    1. To open Windows Update, click the Start button Picture of Start button. In the search box, the discount rate, and then in the results list, click Windows Update.
    2. In the left pane, click Change Settings.
    3. Essential Updates, click any one of the following:
    • Install updates automatically (recommended)
    • Download updates but let me choose whether to install
    • Check for updates but let me choose whether to download and install
    • Never check for updates (not recommended)

    4. To program automatic updates, then to install new updates, choose the day and time you wish for the updates to take place.
    5. For recommended updates for your computer, under recommended updates, select the recommended updates Dame just as important to get control box changes.
    6. To permit any person make use of the computer for updates, choose the Allow users to install updates on this computer check box. These simply applies to software updates and install them manually, automatic updates are installed despite of the user.
