Error 2149842967: Windows update could not be installed

I am looking to install Windows Virtual PC and Windows XP mode on my computer. I have checked that the PC is capable to support the Virtualization tools. After installing Windows XP mode, when I am trying to install Windows Virtual PC on my Windows 7 computer, it gives an error message that says "Windows update could not be installed because of error 2149842967, C:\WINDOWS\system32\wusa.exe" "C:\Users\vishalt\Downloads\Windows6.1-KB958559-x86.msu". Can anyone tell me how do I fix this issue? Thanks

Can you try to remove all the temporary files from your pc and then check if you can install the Virtual PC again. To remove the temp files you need to click on Start and then click on Run and then you have to write %temp% and press ok button. You will see one folder opening on your screen, just delete all the files residing there. Atfer deleting everything, reboot your pc and then try to download and install the Windows setup again.

Can you check if the virtualization technology is enabled in the BIOS or try to download and install it again in Clean boot. If the problem still persists then you can try to attach a screenshot of the error here. To do that press the print screen key on your keyboard when the error happens. Then go to MSpaint and click Edit menu and then click Paste and then click File menu and then click Save. After that attach that photo here.

I was able to download Virtual PC and Windows XP and have done their installation successfully as well. You need to make sure that you have enabled virtualization in the BIOS. And also make sure that your motherboard and CPU support virtualization. Most multi-core CPUs will check with AMD and other hardwares. Later on I deleted Virtual PC because it was not letting me to run 32 bit drivers.
