Windows 7 - Error Code: 66a (Unable to install KB2160841)

I do not know about it but recently I am getting the error code 66A while updating my Windows. And I had come across this unknown error while Security Update for. NET Framework 4, and I have tried this on to the other operating system like windows vista and also on to the windows 7 but getting the same error. Sorry I forgot to tell you about my operating system it is windows xp. Installation Date: 10 / 1 / 2011 14:14

I have the same difficulty and the solution work, no doubt, but why do I require this update in the first place? "Microsoft. NET Framework provides the most comprehensive and powerful build, deploy and manage the wide range of web services that are made possible by XML and related technologies." I am not building, deploying or managing anything, so I can only hide this update and what to do with it?

I'm at present under procedure of rebooting later than running MS .NET Framework 4.0 cleanup tool and will than install it once more by making use of the standalone installer.
