I am not able to mount the vhd file on my windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit

I am using Windows 7 64bit edition on my computer and I cannot attach a VHD file that is created with the Windows 7 System backup. When I try to attach this vhd file then I am getting an error that states "This version does not support this version of the file format". I have used the same old method to create the vhd files and it can be attached to a Windows 7 Ultimate where it was created first. Can anyone tell me what is the issue here? Thanks

Well, I think that you need to change the security of the vhd file so that you can attach it properly. You can also try to mount a vhd file by using diskpart. To do that click on Start and then in Search box type Cmd and press Enter. After that type diskpart in command prompt and then type the below content exactly:
SELECT VDISK FILE=”file path and name of the vhd file”
    ATTACH VDISK

I want to tell you that I was able to mount a Windows 7 Image backup VHD on another Windows 7 computer without any problems. Since you have done many troubleshooting to the VHD files like copying in or out from your pc, this actions might have possibly corrupted your VHD files. So, if your VHD file is corrupted then it will not be able to mount on any other computer because it will not be valid.
