Dual booting windows 7 on windows 7 - error messasge

    Hello to all.

Recently I have tried installing Windows XP onto my Windows 7 inbuilt Dell Laptop. Very unfortunately, after the installation was complete, the laptop could not be booted up anymore and only displayed the error message:

Windows could not start because of an error in the software.
    Please report this problem as:
    load needed DLLs for kernel.
Please contact your support person to report this problem.

I have read online on various forums about the resolution to this problem and have tried everything, but to no avail. I have done the following:

    1.
    -Get into recovery console.
-Expanded hal.dl_ to my newly installed windows XP drive system 32 folder.
-Expanded ntoskrnl.ex_ to my newly installed windows XP drive system32 folder.
-Run CHKDSK /R, BOOTCFG /Rebuild, FIXBOOT, FIXMBR.
-Restarted the computer and the same error is shown.

    2.
-Boot from my XP Setup CD and enter the Recovery Console.
    -Run "Attrib -H-R-S C:\Boot.ini"
    -Delete the C:\Boot.ini file.
    -Run "BOOTCFG /Rebuild".
    -Run FIXBOOT

    3.
    -Re-installed Windows XP three times.
-Restarted the computer and the same error is shown.

I'm using a Dell Inspiron laptop with 2GB Ram.
My hard drives are working fine because my laptop didn't give me any problems until I attempted to install Windows XP Professional SP3 onto a partitioned drive(60GB).

If anyone has a solution to this problem, please let me know. Have been stuck on this for 3 days. Thanks!

This is the issue with the related to the boot which might got corrupted and to resolve the issue you have to go through the below given step that will help you with the same and resolve the booting issue.

    • Boot to the working version of Windows NT.
    • Start a command prompt.
    • Change to the CD-ROM drive.
    • Change to the appropriate folder on the CD-ROM (for example, I386 for Intel-based computers).
    • Type expand hal.dl_ <systemroot>\system32 where <systemroot> is the path of the non-functioning Windows NT folder.
    • Type expand ntoskrnl.ex_ <systemroot>\system32.
    • Restart the computer into the other Windows NT installation.
