    LINUX Mint: Black Screen On Live Boot

    Hi everyone. I'm currently performing to do the Live Boot on a Dell Inspiron. When I boot form either source, I go all the way through the screen giving me the boot alternatives and then the Operating System starts to boot. I observe the black display with the four small points in the middle altering the color among white and green. Eventually the entire the points turn green and vanish and not anything takes place. The screen continues to be black. I anticipate mint to work as it is theoretical to one time it is installed. Please help me to solve this issue.

    If this command does it, then you can put it as a boot limitation permanently. To perform it momentarily as a result that you can be able to boot the first time, once installed, the uproot countdown, push 'e' by means of mint tinted and insert 'nomodeset' immediately prior to it says 'quiet splash' after that push ctrl-x to boot. Then once logged in, within a terminal,
    Code:
    Code: Select all
    gksudo gedit /etc/default/grub
    Locate the line that tells GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="" and in between the quotes "" write down
    Code:
    Code: Select all
    nomodeset
    Save that after that reverse into the terminal
    Code:
    Code: Select all
    sudo update-grub
    After this restart the system. and check whether it helps you out.

    From the Live CD not to install. OK from this it would recommend that:
    Code:
    Code: Select all
    i915.modeset=1
    i915.modeset=1
    Is what you require to place in, by means of the similar technique as you did before? If not, then try
    Code:
    Code: Select all
    i915.modeset=1 driver=intel
    If this will help you out then it can be create to use each and every time. Hopefully you'll have the similar effects as the persons running Ubuntu.

    The problem is solved, to make it fix for the permanent just you have to follow what it is been said by the “SalVatore”. About the nomodeset although apparently by means of i915.modeset=1 driver=intel in its place. Edit the post and try to perform the further changes. Hope it will surely work you out from the problem. it is now solved.
