The file is located in the %SystemRoot%\System32\dfrg.msc. You can simply replace the file. For that you will need Windows CD. Insert windows cd and then run command prompt. In that type command dir e:\i386\dfrg. E is the CD driver of your system. Then run the setup. You can directly run that from command prompt. You can also use the xcopy command to move the file from CD to windows directory.
It is because Disk Defragmenter is not installed on your computer. To resolve this issue, perform the following operations on your system.
- Go to Start, Click Run, type C:\Windows\Inf, and then click OK. Note Substitute C with the drive letter of the local hard disk.
- Right-click the dfrg.inf file, and then click Install.
- Restart
This will install the Disk Defragmenter on your computer and now you can run the Disk Defragmenter
