MPD Creating Problems For MPC And Conky

Sponsored Links
I have been playing various music files in my Linux operating system and it has been working properly. But recently I got a problem when I just successfully installed the MPD and now their is some error which is faced by the MPC and the below given following error message is being displayed to me:
MPD_HOST and/or MPD_PORT environment variables are not set
error: problems getting a response from "localhost" on port 6600 : Connection refused
And also on the other hand my Conky software is also displaying error messages due to this. Please if any one can help me out with this problem.

Re: MPD Creating Problems For MPC And Conky

When you are running the installation set up of the MPD you got to run the below given code:
Code:
export MPD_HOST=127.0.0.1
export MPD_PORT=6600
And then after that you got to run the MPC and updating the files and then run the below code:
Code:
mpd –create-db
mpc update
mpc add /
mpc play
And the issues were solved out without any problems.

And the problem of the Conky can be solved by running the below given coding:
Code:
netstat -nap
This will resolve the issues of the Conky and the relevant parts of my mpd.conf. And if the above solutions are not working for you then you can try to format the Media Player Domain file, and also check out the Domain files of the MPC. And check put the Domains of all the files that will give you the brief ideas of what type of files or media formats you are trying to run.

Re: MPD Creating Problems For MPC And Conky

And their may me cases that the basic problem will be with the host name. The MPD or mpiexec might be searching for the DNS look up that is used for the host name. If there is no DNS server connected to your LAN then there is a posiibilty of an error to occurs. Then you got to rename your host name as localhost.localdomain and this will work. And if your having a DNS look-up, then you got to enter the mapping that is required for your ip address.

Re: MPD Creating Problems For MPC And Conky

Conky is basically a software that is used for the Windows system and also this software is available for the Linux, free BSD and also for the Open BSD. It is considered to be the highly configured object and is used for many system variables including the status of the CPU, memory, swap space, disk storage, temperatures, processes, network interfaces, battery power, system messages, e-mail inboxes, Arch Linux updates, many popular music players. And unlike system monitors that use high-level widget toolkits that helps us to render their information. This is allowed to consume relatively a fewer system resources when configured similarly.
