I would like to install Windows 7 in an Intel Mac mini as the PRIMARY/ONLY operating system (without boot-camp). I love my Macintosh and Macintosh hardware in general, but I need to present a small-sized Windows 7 arrangement for a very non-technical person, and would like to use Macintosh hardware if feasible. Has anyone tried this before , and if so, what happened?

According to me you can install Windows 7 only on your Mac Mini if you want, but you need to Boot Camp to do it. Boot Camp creates a special CD with all the drivers for workings in Mac Mini and to also allow compatibility under Windows 7. The most excellent way to perform this is to boot into OS X. Then Start the Boot Camp wizard and pursue the on screen commands, you might have resized the partition for the moment before the driver CD is created. After creation of the driver CD, launch Boot Camp again and get rid of the separation you created.

Hi! You should not have any problem. The only thing you need to do is to install windows 7, clean all the partitions and then set up a new one for just windows, then after installation, use the OS X disk that came with your mini to set up the drivers. You need to update using apple's updater. I guess you should not have any problems. The cause is you would need OS X if Apple releases a firmware type update.

If you have removed the Partition. Next you need to boot from your Windows 7 DVD to format the partition.
- Then click on install now. Then Accept License Agreement
- There will be an option to select an installation type, select (Custom Advanced)
- Then click on drive option.
- Then Select the drive by clicking on Format and click Next to proceed with the installation
- After completion of installation, insert the Boot camp CD and launch the setup wizard.
- If that does not work, click start, type: Device Manager
- Then right click every component that shows an exclamation sign
- Then update the drivers
