Update server 2008 to 64 bit

I have a DC running server 2008 32 bit, is there any way to run an "upgrade advisor" to make sure I can run 64 bit?

If you are talking about the operating system only then there is no way to do this without reinstalling. You can read more in similar kind of thread from here - http://forums.techarena.in/server-migration/1014937.htm

I know the actual server can be updated to 64 BIT (it is VM) I am more so worried about checking the installed programs to make sure I will haven o compatibility issues.
