According to me, the configuration which you are having can easily run the Windows 7 operating system. I know that this can happen because even i am running the windows 7 64-bit on my Socket 939. So you can try installing the windows 7 OS on your system. Hope that i have given you the required answer for your problem.

On my system i two operating system being installed. Both windows XP and Windows 7 operating system are installed on the same motherboard. All things run fine on my system. Make your reason sure if you are changing from XP to win 7, because there is nothing wrong with the XP. You can try installing the win 7, it will not cause any problem.

As you have posted your configuration in the earlier post and you have mentioned that your processor is Athlon 64. So the 64 means 64-bit. If you are having the processor of the 64-bit so why cant you run windows 7 64-bit. According to me you can run win 7 on your system without any problem. I think you have got your answer.
