ATI Mobility Radeon x1400 Windows 7 Driver issue

I am using windows 7 beta 7075 x64 without any problem. First it does not recognize my window card but after running the improve performance tools, it downloaded the driver and installed successfully. ATI support page is much useless as far as laptop video card is concerned. Is there any way to find such driver. Your suggestion will be appreciated.

Yes the problem is with the driver. I had found a driver on windowsupdate.microsoft.com/catalog by searching driver for ATI x1400 Windows 7. I just installed the 64bit version on my Lenova laptop on a win7 64bit pro. Now it is working fine.

Re: ATI Mobility Radeon x1400 Windows 7 Driver issue

Mostly all the driver on the windows update site is provided by the Hardware manufacturers. Microsoft test the driver with different models in various environments before they are out. But there is no guarantee that all the driver will support all the hardware platforms since there are a lot of models available. Even if the hardware ID are same due to hardware modification by different manufacturer the driver update may cause some error. so, i will suggest you to Roll back driver or Restore the system to the point before the problem has occurred.Hope this might help to solve your problem.

Re: ATI Mobility Radeon x1400 Windows 7 Driver issue

I think it is due to compatibility problem. Many of the software available on Microsoft are not compatible with the hardware platform. You can go to ATI website to download the driver for your video card. You have to download the desktop Radeon drivers from ATI. After downloading install it in compatibility mode for the OS XP. Hope this will help you to get rid of this problem.
