By right-clicking in Details pane of Software Installation Snap-In in group Policy of Windows XP there is no New option for creating packages to Assign or Publish it to users,Why?
To create a software distribution point, do the following:
- Create a network share along with the appropriate folders for software distribution.
- Copy the Windows Installer packages, application executable files, and .zap files to the appropriate shared folder.
- Set the appropriate permissions for the high-level network shared folder. Users must have the ability to read from the software distribution point. Set the following Discretionary Access Control (DACL) permissions:
Everyone: Read
Administrators: Full Control, Change, and Read.
i'm not in a network with multiple computers,there is just one PC and two active accounts,Admnistrator and a limited user account,why there is no New selection after right-clicking in the Details pane of software installation snap-in?
