Windows 7 Install Automation using WAIK

Ok guys I need someone with any expertise in using the Windows Automated Installation Kit (more specifically, SIM within the WAIK) to create Unattend.XML files for a Windows 7 build.

I have created what I thought was a proper Unattend.XML file but am getting an error when I run a sysprep shortcut with the extra gubbins on the end poitning it to the unattend file saying that it cannot parse or process the file unattend.xml. the file does not exist. It is in the correct directory and is named correctly so it must be an error in my creation of the file itself?

The documentation on this matter online is woefully inadequate so I need someone with personal knowledge of this!!

    Hoping someone can help,

    Jawsh

Re: Windows 7 Install Automation using WAIK

Windows AIK is a collection of tools and documentation designed to help IT professionals deploy Windows. Whilst WAIK provides the tools, it isn't feasible to use it for large deployments - only initial setups or small deployments. When looking at large scale deployments, Microsoft have the Microsoft Deployment Toolkit 2010 which offers Light Touch or Zero Touch deployment options.
