Windows 7 - Network Backup Error Code 0x8100002

I am running my computer with the Windows 7 Professional and have connected to the NAS. But the problem is that when i am trying to set the backup on the Windows 7 desktop machine i am getting an error.

"The specified network location cannot be used"  "To save files on a network location, your permissions need to be set to Full Control for that location.  (0x8100002A).

I am unable to resolve the issue. If any one is having the knowledge regarding the problem i am getting then please help me with the solution of it.

I am having the same issue while taking the backup of the Network drive and getting the same error. I have tried lots of thing to get rid of the same but nothing work for me so finally i have created a new User Account when started taking the backup from same it worked for me. If possible you do the same and get rid of the same.

I think that the Windows 7 firewall is not allowing the connection to the network or blocking the same. If this is the case then i think you should check the Firewall status and see whether it is blocking the connection to network or not. Just disable the Firewall and get this things working with the issue of yours.

I will advise you to check whether the device of your is having the full permission to share the data on the same. If it is not having the full permission set on the same or not. If not then set the full permission to the drive of yours so that it can work with the backup easily. So try this out and see whether the problem resolved or not.

If possible then follow then follow the below given step that will help you for the Windows 7 - Network Backup Error Code 0x8100002 which you are going through. I have tried this and it worked for me.

• Click on Start
• Run secpol.msc
• Go to Local Policies
• Then to Security Options
• Navigate 'Network Security: LAN Manager authentication level'
• Change 'Send NTLMv2 response only' to 'Send LM & NTLM - use NTLMv2 session security if negotiated'
