Where are these files actually situated ? I meant, what is the path of these files ? Had your tried deleting them after a soft reboot? Do you getting any errors during this process ? We may need these details to assist you better. Anyways, you can just checkout some threads and tips here to delete the files that are undeletable on Windows Vista: Cannot delete files on vista. Hope it can help
Please see the attached error messages for path.
Download FileASSASSIN that is an application that can delete any type of locked files that are on your computer. Whether the files are from a malware infection or just a particular file that will not delete - FileASSASSIN can remove it. The program uses advanced programming techniques to unload modules, close remote handles, and terminate processes to remove the particular locked file. Please use with caution as deleting critical system files may cause system errors.
FileASSISSIN error message also indicates that files do not actually exist.
Is this a problem with the FAT?
Have you tried renaming those 0KB files and then deleting it directly, you can also try to delete the file from a command window. It is sounding like a corrupt file so try to get yourelf free data recovery programs. Have you also scanned your pc with some antivirus software, because it might be a case of viruses infecting your pc?
When I try any operation on the file - such as delete, or rename, I get the same error mesage: file not at this location.
How to verify the actual location?
You have to make sure emule.exe is able to receive incoming connections. You will also need to check your antivirus software configuration for firewall-like features like worm protection. You need to exclude emule.exe from such 'protection'. If your firewall has logging enabled, you could check and see if any connection attempts related to the ports eMule Plus is using are listed there.
