sad After reinstalling windows vista Still can only start in safe mode.

OK I have reinstalled windows vista 2 times. I tried control user passwords2 and got to the advance tab and got this :Local Users and Groups

This computer is rinning windows vista home premium. This snapin may not be used with this version of windows. To manage user accounts for this computer, use the user accounts tool in the control panel.

I went to msconfig and went to general and checked normal start up. did not work.

anyone have anyother ideas? I am at a loss and not very smart when it comes to computers.

In safe boot your system. Then right click on My computer and then click on Tools. In that click on Error checking and then click on Check now. Now put a checkmark in the box there and then reboot your system. You must run some Windows update before that. Same in Properties click on Advance and then click on Startup and recovery. Then in settings click on System failure and remove the checkmark from automatic restart.

Download the Windows Vista Recovery Disc from here and try to do a startup repair. Otherwise, if you have a Windows Vista installation disc, you need to restart (boot) your computer using the installation disc. If you do not restart your computer from the disc, the option to repair your computer will not appear.

If you have a Windows Vista installation disc:
    1. Insert the installation disc.

    2. Restart your computer.

Click the Start button, click the arrow next to the Lock button, and then click Restart.

    3. If prompted, press any key to start Windows from the installation disc.

    Hi Happymisfit,

Glad you sorted out your problem it would be equally good if you can provide some information about the fix that you applied, so that other users who might face the same problem can apply the same fix to solve their issue. Thanks.
