best size distribution for drives

hi friends! i have Windows XP SP3 in my pc i have 80 GB hard disk and 512 MB of RAM.
I want to format my computer for many reasons.
but the biggest problem for me is - in which way should i distribute the whole hard disk size?
i've heard that the drive containing the windows component should be of minimum size.
Is this true? if yes then please tell me what size should i give to different drives(i.e. C:/, D:/ and E:/.....)
I'M WAITING FOR YOUR REPLIES.

Alright, I also have a 80 gb hard drive and therefore I have made a partition like C: Drive 20 gb, D: Drive 40 gb and E: Drive 40 gb. Basically I have done this allotment because I wanted to have Windows in the c drive, then games in d drive and all software and movies in e drive. Also, I hardly store anything in C drive because I have heard that if we keep the Windows drive not so much occupied then I wont get slow booting trouble and all. Alas it just depends how will you conclude in your case.

The Windows XP takes only the 1.2 to 1.3 of the disk space after the installation. So you need this much space to run XP. Rest of the space that you need is depend on the installation of your program which you are using. If the program requires more space then your partition should be partitioned according to that. That's it!!!!
