| windows xp boot error name hal.dll
i have 40 gb hard disk, while booting it says hal.dll missing, i tried to format but it stops at 20 % and quiting from that.  |

The main reason of missing or corrupt hal.dll error is due to a corrupted hal.dll DLL file obviously. Alternatively it could be due to the hal.dll file might have been moved or deleted its projected position.
