You can utilize rpmbuild and build from the ImageMagick source RPM. That determines to adapt the ImageMagick arrangement to your host surroundings. Had a crazy thought and it might presently have worked. I come into view to be capable to successfully build ImageMagick 6.4.6-3 on my system alright for a number of reasons and it seems to be running on there. On the other hand I do not imagine that was the difficulty anyway so back to the drawing board/banging my head against the system.

    This worked for me

Get the proper version of rpmforge
    http://packages.sw.be/rpmforge-release/

The download the binary rpm from Imagemagic.org and use yum to install. Yum will install the required files.

    wget http://www.imagemagick.org/download/...6.3-7.i386.rpm
    yum --nogpgcheck localinstall ImageMagick-6.6.3-7.i386.rpm

If you want to have yum install the required source files use the same
    yum localinstall /path/to/src.rpm
