Error (msi_check : 0x80280002)

I am under Windows XP Professional SP2. I recently reinstalled Windows on this computer. I then tried to install Windows Live Essential but it fails with an error saying msi_check : 0x80280002. The reason it stated was that my Windows version is out of date. I don't know what is the causing this problem. Do you know where the problem lies?

To solve msi_check error: 0x80280002 go to http://download.microsoft.com and search for latest Windows Installer. Download and install it on your computer. This should solve your problem. msi_check : 0x80280002 generally occurs if you have registry problems. So to solve this problem download a registry repair tool. I would suggest you to go with Perfect Optimizer. Install one on your computer and follow the procedure to repair Windows Registry. Once completed, redo the repair procedure just to make sure if there isn't any thing left.

If you are receiving 0x80280002 error when you are trying to install or run any application then that might occur due to the index to a PCR, DIR or other register is incorrect. To resolve this problem you could definitely try the suggestions that mv told you. You could even try some other registry cleaner if you want. I would recommend you to go for Mr. Fix Registry Cleaner.

Above option on register cleaner is also useful . Download that particular file from internet and put it on appropriate path .
