    What is ACC?

    Hello to everyone. Many of the times while computer and technology details reading, I have read the term AAC. But, till now I am not having any idea about this term. I have tried to find out the details about it, on internet and on the google search I get the result as Automotive Custom Carpeting. Is this the meaning of the AAC. If you have details about it, then please provide details to me. Thank you in advance.

    Re: What is ACC?

    AAC Stands for the Advanced Audio Coding. AAC was developed by the MPEG group that includes Dolby, Fraunhofer (FhG), AT&T, Sony and Nokia—companies that have also been involved in the development of audio codecs such as MP3 and AC3. The AAC codec in QuickTime builds upon new, state-of-the art signal processing technology from Dolby Laboratories and brings true variable bit rate audio encoding to QuickTime. Because of its incredible quality at a wide range of data rates and ratification as an industry standard, AAC audio is gaining wide adoption in the marketplace.

    Advanced Audio Coding is having following features for audio files:
    1. The sampling Of: 8kHz to 96kHz
    2. The number of channels: up to 48;
    3. Improved coding efficiency for stationary signals
    4. A coding efficiency improvement for signals of transition
    5. Better management of frequencies beyond 16kHz ;
    6. A junction stereo (joint stereo) More flexible
    7. Compatibility of DRM To control the use of files in this format.

    Advanced Audio Coding (AAC) Is an algorithm audio compression lossy intended to supply a superior fraction excellence /bitrate the older format MPEG-1 / 2 Audio Layer 3. For that cause it has been elected by different firms as Apple or RealNetworks. The AAC takes a modular approach to coding: Depending on the complexity of the stream encoding, the target quality and file size that is desired. Users can create profiles to define the tool he wants to use from the set of presets.

    Re: What is ACC?

    AAC means Advanced Audio Coding which is having advantages over MP3 file :
    • Better compression provide advanced-value results with minor file sizes
    • Provide for multichannel audio, giving up to 48 full frequency channels
    • Top resolution audio, providing sampling rates up to 96 kHz
    • Superior decoding effectiveness, requiring less processing power for decode

    The AAC is a lossy compression format data. It means that the Advanced Audio Coding. It causes a noticeable loss of quality compared to lossless formats of data (the FLAC for example). However memory storage equal, the AAC causes less noticeable than the changes MP3. The sound quality of a standard piece of music encoded in eAAC + 48kbps is just slightly below a 128 kbps MP3 encoding. For this reason we find more and more internet radio broadcasting in eAAC + with a rate of 48 kbps. To obtain a quality equivalent to 128kbps encoded MP3, eAAC + encoding in 56 or 64 kbps is needed.
