    The latest version just make it "BackTrack 4 Pre Release" maybe with a new version has some bug, may be you need to download it again. Then finally install the application once again on your computer so that it become but if this persists then wait for the release version of a need, it is possible to be fixed, : D

    first you must give a password to root user, start your session with:

    $ Sudo su
    put your pass there
    now you're root and setup password
    # Passwd
    Now put the root pass of
    and now you can go to root with
    $ Su
    is a matter of security policies of ubuntu, which is up there, well ... that if you start in single mode grub you become root without being prompted password, so it is best to add ...

    You will need to do the following after booting your system.

    $ Sudo passwd root
    ----> (I will ask for your user pass) you type in and take the Enter
    ----> (a new pass for root) and you type Enter
    ----> (Will ask you to repeat the new pass root) and you type Enter.

    Please note the following information to login to your account

    Username: root
    password: toor

    If you have installed and you have created a specific user, use that login to the constraseña you put and then make the step you have identified above:

    sudo passwd root

    Start your computer by pressing the power button

    At the time that asks you your credentials:

    Login = the user name that you put the time to install BT
    Password = you put the time to install BT

    After you type startx to start the X server is not nothing but the graphical interface BT
