Backtrack 4 Final Install issues

So hello to all,
To start coughing I will explain my problem. I'm Linux backtrack # 4 So my problem is that the resolution is not good in big backtrack not full screen it there 's banner of black high bottom right to left then reduced in size so would be possible to backtrack. I have tried to change many settings but nothing seems to work.

What is your video card, have you installed the proprietary drivers, in what resolution are you, type your screen resolution and capacity of your screen..?? I would suggest you to change your graphic card and then check.!! Because this is not common issue and I doubt on your graphic card. So it would be better if you start doing troubleshooting by changing your graphic card.

• Video Card: Nvidia 9800 GT
• Screen Resolution: I do not know really I think 1600 and some or +
• Screen Brand: LG
• Display: 21 p
• Backtrack Resolution: 1280 x 1024
• An updated installed drivers for your video card? : Yes.

Hello, you have installed the free driver (nv) or the proprietary driver (nvidia)? If yes, then I think that you should do the installation properly. You might be went wrong while doing the installation of the Backtrack 4. There are some steps that you should take care while installing. Hello all,
I installed Backtrack 4 sub wm ware so no worries and level virtualization but now I am facing a problem. At the end of installation, it asks me for a username and password. But I never gave any username or password. It would be grateful is someone can help me.!!

I would like to suggest you to use the following :

• User-name - root
• password - toor

I already made a USB version with this new UNetbootin, but I have not yet installed. The biggest progress in this version is what is based on Ubuntu and therefore has an automatic installer (and a package management SIMPLE) Which makes this REALLY distribution installable to HDD. Many people download BT without knowledge of Linux. That is why we see more and more stupid question on forums Backtrack.

FYI: I have the same GPU and was able to install the nvidia driver by:

1. <CTRL><ALT><BACKSPACE> which will quit the X server, dropping you into text mode.
2. apt-get -y install nvidia-driver to install the nvidia driver (which I found using aptitude).
3. startx, finally restarting the X server with good resolution, though for some reason, still not the best OpenGL 3D frame rate.
