You have not mentioned the proper error message that appears when you are trying the task. Anyways, i think the issue is with your ATI driver. I'll suggest you to go here and download the driver corresponding to your card. Once done, right click on ati-driver executable and select Save. Enter the name of the file in a shell to start the installation. Once that is done you have to edit xorg or directly back into a shell. Use this command aticonfig - initial-f.

Make a reboot or restart x server directly (ctrl + alt + tab). Right click on your desktop:
    • configure desktop
    • display
    • take in the new value in screen size
    • Apply
    • ok

Copy the module to your ati.lzm root directory ("cd /") then "tar-zxvf ati.lzm" - then run the. That Is Placed sh file in the 'newly created / install directory by typing "sh install / doinst. sh. After That You Should Be Able to load up X by using the ati command Which Will configure / N / etc/X11/xorg.conf to Work Properly Then you can use your preferred method after to run X.

Now, just copy it to / bt / modules / on the cd

You must give execute permissions to the file .sh
    Code:
      chmod a + x doinst.sh
Or, if you do not want to give rights
    Code:
      sh doinst.sh
