Poor RAID1 array performance
  

Hi all,

Between two hard drives raid1, out of which a disk into another computer, normal startup? If two raid1 swap in which a disk, what results will occur? If you can start to show what piece set of content? raid raid in the process of establishing if the other is only the hard disk number? A systematic construction site and an empty disk raid1, whether there will be empty the contents of the disk image to disk, if so, whether the data loss and reconstruction after the raid saying contradictory? raid1 as two drive exactly the same content, why are the main points from the set of? Out of which a RAID1 disk into another computer can not start properly, because the promoter region of the controller driver can not be used by another computer. RAID1 swap a disk, in the same machine if there is a problem may not occur, but it will prompt you to change the hard disk location, if not the same machine, then swap the hard drive's data may be be cleared. When reading data, the system start with the source disk RAID 0 read data, read data if successful, the system disk that starting back up the data; If the data fails to read the source disk, the system automatically switch to read backup data on disk will not cause users to interrupt the work of the task. RAID1 mirror the two hard drives, and two hard drives at the same time really very small chance of damage. So you find a hard drive nothing else, are suspected to run RAID card problem, can not correctly call the piece of the hard disk. Or piece of hard drives, cables, RAID card one of the three problems. The other thing a hard drive is good, then this piece of the hard disk in the RAID card to work properly. RAID-1 disk mirroring to achieve through mainly used to ensure the reliability of data. The same data will be copied to a different disk storage, if a disk fails, the array can also be found inside of a corresponding data on disk, it can be easily resumed. Mirror can not only create redundant data and bring high availability, also can maintain the normal operation of critical applications. Advantage: improved performance of data read and data write performance with a single disk is no different. 100% data redundancy means that a disk failure does not require reconstruction of the data. Prior to testing by other personnel in RAID 1 and RAID 5 for the comparison test, tested in two ways, one is under the Unix dd command, on the order of reading and writing test, another is based on the hard drive of Benchmark Tool (IOMeter, VDBench), on the order, random, typical, and high hit rates to test, test, especially in file copy test, Raid 5 read and write performance is better than Raid 1.
