    Kernel synchronization under debian

    Hello,
I have a serious problem. I ran the update and rebooting it myself out:
    Code:
/ init:.: line 53: Can not open / scripts / functions
Kernel panic - not syncing: Attempted to kill init!
And this is what I got, i think this is the problem of kernel synchronization. If you have any idea regarding this then please let me know. Thanks in advance.

    Hello,
Even I did had a similar kind of a problem with my debian operating system when I tried to update it. I looked in menu.lst and grub.conf to see if it came from except that I grub seems like it comes from initrd or kernel. But on idea what so over about these files. So, if you can explain me then it would be great. Thanks in advance.

    Hello,
How did it happen? I mean, an update of what?

    - from stable to stable? (Lenny)
    - from testing to testing? (Squeeze)
    - from unstable to unstable? (Sid)
    - from stable to unstable? (Lenny sid)
    etc.
I would like to recommend you and go with the stable version.

    Hello,
It happened on a major of a permanent stable. I do not understand at all why it gave me a problem like that.It has jumped grub but I am wondering if it 's Do not jump to other things. I am new to linux and I confess that it is difficult for me to understand or that coming. Any additional information or help regarding this is appreciated. By the thanks for the reply.

    Hello,
It looks like a problem initializing the initrd. When updating an initrd image was recreated? Grub is pointing to the good image? Have you checked your console access ?
Here is the command, you will have to issue this command in the terminal as a root user
    Code:
    fdisk-l
And here is the out of the command
    Code:
    ls-l / etc / init.d /
    ls-l / etc / rcS.d /
