    unsure Application error

When I start up my computer I get the following: StartService.exe-Application Error
The instruction at "0x7c910ef4" referenced memory at "0x012a40e8". The memory could not be "read".
Right after that I get a warning from McCafee that a Buffer overflow was blocked.
There is another message which I got when opening Word. Application Error.
    KB19701718x86-ENU.exe

    Re: Application error

Basically, "Application Error" with memory could not be "read" indicates that your processor tried to perform read or write operation on a sector of RAM or hard disk but was not able to do the same due to some reasons. This could happen if you have bad sectors on Ram (happens if you have done overclocking) or on hard disk. Whatever may be the case you can check this with the help of Windows CheckDisk utility. Simply go to Start - Run - type "chkdsk" and press enter to perform the operation. It will also allow you to fix those bad sectors.

Thanks but I tried and it didn't help. Any other ideas?
