    Catalyst "Super-User" Problem

I am having the video card MSI ATI Radeon HD 4830 and it is working fine with the drivers installed. The problem is with configuring the Catalyst. Whenever I try to open it through Applications -> Other -> ATI Catalyst Control Center that is “super user”. I am receiving an error message which is something like this.

Could not launch 'ATI Catalyst Control Center (super-user)'
Failed to execute child process "amdxdg-su" (No such file or directory)
Actually, I need to set up dual monitors and the only way to do this is to use Catalyst as a super-user, but I am not able to that. My current operating system is Ubuntu.

Any help related to this Catalyst "Super-User" Problem will be appreciated.

    Re: Catalyst "Super-User" Problem

I have installed the catalyst driver and it is working fine, I am also able to adjust color but I am not able to change the resolution. Whenever I tried to use it displays the error message that I have to close it and open it as super user. Below are the steps, which I have tried.
Applications -> Other -> ATI catalyst control center (super-user)
    But facing this error message

    Could not launch menu item

Failed to execute child process "amdxdg-su" (No such file or directory are present)

After that I have opened the terminal and then inserted the code

    Code:
    amdxdg-su -c amdcccle
After that I have received this

    Code:
    bash: amdxdg-su: command not found
In short, I want to say that a normal user can open the ATI software but I am not able to launch as the super-user.

    Re: Catalyst "Super-User" Problem

This problem seems to me as easy fix. You have to do these steps.

    1. Go to the Gnome menu
    2. Then to System -> Preferences
    3. Main Menu -> Applications
    4. Other -> ATI Catalyst Control Center (Super-User)
    5. Properties -> Then you have enter Command

    Code:
Change "amdxdg-su -c amdcccle" to "gksu amdcccle"

    Thanks for the reply,

It is working now. Now I am facing one more problem. I want to know anyone has created a but for this on launchpad? I know that the restricted drivers is not maintained by canonical, but I was thinking that if it is possible to change the shortcut menu

I am very delightful to know that the Radeon HD 4200 comes with the Asus M4A785TD-M EVO works perfectly on Karmic Alpha 5.

    Re: Catalyst "Super-User" Problem

    Hello,

I have installed driver for Gainward HD4850 through EnvyNG. After that I tried to open the Control Center with the administrative rights I received the error message like this
Failed to execute child process "amdxdg-su"
Then I tried execute the instruction which are mentioned in the above reply, I was not able to open any Control Center, and when it try to open any of them nothing is loading on my PC.
One more thing after installing the drivers

System --> Preferences -->Display for "refresh rate" is available only 60Hz but before that I was getting 75Hz.

Anybody has any idea what is happening.
