Can't install Sun Java 6 JDK

Hello. I have a desktop machine and it is been installed with Ubuntu 9.04 operating system. I have upgraded the system to Ubuntu 9.10. The problem is that I have Java SDK application and wants it to get install to the system. But I am not able to do the same. I have no idea why is this happening? Please help me out so that I can make the installation of the application and work for the same. It would be a great help.

The application that you have may not be proper and hence this is the reason that you are not able to install the application to the system. So in order to get the things to wok well i is essential that you get another copy of the application and ten try to install the same. This may help you out to get the application to install to the system.

There is another way through which you can make the issue to be sorted. All you need to do is to make the application that you need to install be updated. It means you should use the updated pack of the application to install to the system. Then check out for the issue. It may be that the application will get install to the system well as you have upgraded the system. So do look out for the thing.

As you have upgraded the system it is necessary that the application you need to install be able to cope with the system as well. You should not have upgraded the system. It is indeed essential that you perform clean install to the system of the operating system. As it is been done you may then be able to make the application get install to the system.

Well even I was not able to install the same to the system when I tried to do but then I sorted the issue by following some steps that i performed. All you need to do is to remove the -bin and -jre packages, which in turn removed all the dependencies (most importantly eclipse packages). I then re-installed the -jdk, -jre, -bin, and eclipse packages (using the lower versions for java packages). Check out for this. It may help.
