Is Ubuntu OS good? Do you need to install any driver after installing it?

I'm planning to install the Ubuntu OS on my laptop(currently has windows Vista), but I don't know if Ubuntu is good. Do you need to install any drivers for Ubuntu? Can I send stuff to my printer in Ubuntu? Is it compatible with my printer driver?

Yes Ubuntu is a linux based system, so it is quite stable and powerful. Also, you will not be required to install any of the drivers after you have installed ubunut. You can also use the printer from the ubuntu operating system, rather you can use an printer server to manage the printers. Also, normally you will not require the printer drivers.
