    X3100 issue on snow leopard

    Hi,
I have old MacBook which comes with GMA X3100 GPU support. I had search for the drivers of this tool. The time from when I had installed those drivers there is a driver corruption problem in my PC. I had tried to re-update the drivers but nothing works here. My graphic quality is gone down to an extent and now I am not able to figure out what to do.

I think you will need to first remove the drivers and then re-install them back again. For this you have to go Leopard > Snow Leopard upgrade and then you can see the update running on your screen. It is search for appropriate drivers and this will help a lot in improving your graphic output. There are many post regarding the buggy issue on this driver.

Here there is a similar issue. I was having a 10.5.8 driver support for GMA X3100 on my Mac book. I planned to downgrade to 10.5.6 in order to make my graphic quality much batter. I had even tried installing 10.5.1 but still no progress here. I had also not taken the backup of the drivers which caused me permanent loss of my settings. I will try the new one again.

The issue can be related to the incompatible driver with the device which you are trying to connect. This does not work well till the device is properly installed. If you have any audio software in your system then that also mess you audio settings where the problem comes with audio output. What you do here is revert back your old drivers and then check the audio settings.

Indeed OpenCL will work here on your GMA. But what is the kernel that starts in 64bit is already the case on my computer. Perhaps you want to talk to an official version of Snow Leopard would start him even 64bit. Because I have done this with a software. Just get the same from open source update your new drivers and try that same. Hope this works.

I had faced this similar problem when I was trying to connect any external display to my macbook. Before running the update everything works fine but as I installed the new drivers my graphic drivers the output started degrading. I had tried to run some fix but nothing helps here. It might be due to buggy driver. May be the older version still work I hope.

May be you can try the new driver from the official site of Intel. I had downloaded a similar driver from a download site which does not work so better. So I had downloaded the same again from the official site and now that works. You can visit the below link and download the same driver. Just choose the appropriated operating system and download it.
