Unable to open an elevated Windows Explorer window

I was using windows vista with my desktop until last month when i upgraded my system with windows 7. In vista it was possible to run an elevated Windows Explorer window by enabling "Launch folder windows in a separate process". Please tell me how can open an elevated Windows Explorer window . I would really appreciate your help.

This might be because you may be using a regular account and not an administrator account. So i would recommend you to create an administrator account and then try to open the open the elevated Windows Explorer window. I hope that this will do the trick for your sure hope this helps.

To get the elevated windows explorer i would suggest you to login with the administrator and then simply right click on the start menu and then select Run As administrator . It will prompt for the administrator password and then reconfirm it finally it will open the elevated windows explorer window.

Since windows explorer is always running in the background you cannot elevate the windows Explorer. you can only elevate the windows explorer or to a higher token when it will launch a new process. Existing process cannot be elevated So to elevate the process you need to stop the process which is running in the background.

For achieving this you will have to perform the steps which are mentioned below

• Go the your folder
• Type the name of the file which you want to edit.
• Hence CMD will find the application associated and it will run the same with the elevated token.
• To choose the data it will get saved without any sort of problem and any prompts.
