When you try to install Virtual PC on your computer which supports and uses a 64-bit version of the Windows Server 2003 as the host operating system whcih can generate a bug check and then it can also shut down the operating system. It occurs because of the 64-bit versions of the operating system that protect a critical system register which Virtual PC modifies to enable the hardware-assisted virtualization. So it can be the problem which you will face, to avoid this you need to have hotfix. You can find it on the internet.

I think that it is possible to install Virtual PC 2007 on Windows Server 2003. To do this you need to follow all the steps which i have mentioned below which can help you out to install Virtual PC 2007.

    1. You need to download and install a free copy of the Virtual PC 2007.
    2. Then create a new Virtual Machine, which will host the guest operating system.
    3. After that obtain the 32-bit version of your guest operating system, which can be done either on DVD or as an image.
    4. Than capture the DVD drive or the image of the Windows Server 2003 in the Virtual Machine.
    5. And after that just check out your Windows Server 2008 which is installed and it will definitely work.
