    Physical Memory Limits: Windows 7

    Hi all,

I am using windows7 in my laptop. I find that windows 7 professional 32bit only use 2.76 GB of memory instead of 4gb that are currently installed in any machine that supports more than 2.76. Can anybody know that what is the exactly Physical Memory Limits in windows 7. Please reply. Thanks in advance.

    Physical Memory Limits: Windows 7

We can see all the different Windows versions of the physical memory support licensing SKU. For example, the 32-bit Windows Server 2008 Standard Edition supports only 4GB, while the 32-bit Windows Server 2008 Datacenter Edition supports 64GB. Similarly, 64-bit Windows Server 2008 Standard Edition supports 32GB, the 64-bit 32-bit Windows Server 2008 Datacenter Edition supports 2TB. Currently, there is no number system has 2TB of memory, but Windows Server Performance Products Group know that two servers have so much memory, one of the laboratory in a way. Check and reply.

64-bit Windows client, support for different SKU's memory are also different, Windows XP Starter Edition to support the minimum memory, only 512MB, and Windows Vista Ultimate memory to support the highest, up to 128GB. But all versions of 32-bit Windows client SKU, including Windows Vista, Windows XP and Windows 2000 Professional, maximum support 4GB physical memory. Standard X86 memory management mode, the maximum can support 4GB of physical address access. In the early days, the client does not need to consider more than 4GB of support, because there was so few computers with high memory, even if it is the server. All the best.

According to Microsoft's specifications are given, in addition to Starter Edition only supports 1GB of memory, the other version of Windows Vista (32 bit) are able to support 4GB of "memory" - of course, means the 32-bit x86 systems, 64-bit Windows Vista x64 and no Starter corresponding version - but to note that, where the so-called "4GB" is not equivalent to the real physical memory, but to the available memory address space. All the best.

Machines are now a part of the player 4G, 6G of memory, but these users there is not a large part of the system with 64-bit. How do? 4G memory limit crack the software is adopted. I once did a comparison, a 64-bit system, installed computers and a loaded 32-bit crack 4G limit computer, two computers also support 64-bit computing CPU, 4G memory, the same is equally WIN7. The final test result is 64-bit and 32-bit crack the 4G memory limit is not much difference between the actual results, the 64-bit system. Check and reply.

We do not have fast and accurate way to know exactly. There is only a general approach can be used, the method is based on the system "available" memory of the long-term monitoring, especially when running memory-intensive workloads. If there is no physical memory allocated to the process, the kernel, or driver, then Windows will define this part of the physical memory available memory. As the name suggests, the available memory can be allocated to a process necessary or system. Of course, this part of memory Windows will use the maximum extent possible, will be used as file cache (reserve list), and kept clear memory (clear page list) and the other, Windows Vista will use the SuperFetch feature, the data and code pre-loaded into the standby list, to ensure that future use of code and data will get priority. All the best.
