    The Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth is basically integrated into the versions of Direct X as a DirectMusic integral part. The file of wavetable is near about 3 MB in size. The wavetable file insure that the wavetable is in the DLS format. This is the proprietary SoundFont of universal contrasting Creative Technology. But I don't know how to disable it.

    I know one method for to disable the Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth, but thing is that it disables all windows sound. To do the same thing you need to right click my computer and go to manage and then select 'Service manager' option. Afer this procedure you have to disable the windows audio service. And finally restart your computer system. Please try this solution and let me know if worked for you or not.

    This is an AMAZINGLY useless answer indeed.

    Here's an even better solution to disable MS GS Wavetable Synth:
    1. Disconnect your computer
    2. Open your window
    3. Throw your computer out of the window.

    Really, Calvin_K, do you think the original poster wanted to disable ALL audio? Or maybe, just maybe, they wanted to disable the MS GS Wavetable Synth while retaining all their other audio capabilities? Noo, impossible.

    *facepalm*

    @Betch

    Actually, when you 'disable' the soundcard in this way, ASIO4ALL can still use it. All (non-ASIO) sounds will be disabled, but anything with an ASIO driver (e.g. your DAW) should be able to play sound. Try it!
