Re: How to create partition using cmd prompt?

You will need to use 'Diskpart' command of cmd prompt for create partition. Diskpart enables a superset of the actions that are supported by the Disk Management snap-in. The Disk Management snap-in prohibits you from inadvertently performing actions that may result in data loss. It is recommended that you use the Diskpart utility cautiously because Diskpart enables explicit control of partitions and volumes.

Re: How to create partition using cmd prompt?

There is special command prompt command used to create the partition, and which is diskpart. You can use many option with this command in the way to customize the partition. such as 'list partition' and 'select disk'. The create option of diskpart is basically used to create the primary partition. I don't know more about this cmd prompt command.

Re: How to create partition using cmd prompt?

I suggest you to use 'Diskpart' command to create partition using cmd prompt. This command supports scripted operations. You will need to use command naed as 'diskpart /s script.txt' in the way to make initiation of Diskpart script. This command is compatible for windows XP as well as with windows 2000. To use this command your system need to be have 'Windows Preinstall Environment'.
