MS-DOS top 10 commands
  

Hello guys,

It is one of the simple bit question for discussion which is requires in the project assigned by CS teacher in my class. and I have to present it with the projector connected in the class room.

So would you provide me some description on the top 10 commands used in the DOS.The top most commands should be popular.

You can measure the top commands if you will think for little about the DOS commands.The regular commands through which we can perform the combined operation from memory to network related issues.

The commands which is mostly used in routine operation just select them out and see the list of commands here with much more description about the overview of DOS commands.

MS-DOS top 10 commands

I made a list of those commands which is used most frequently on the DOS prompt. The top 10 MS-DOS commands are used and that you will most likely use during a normal DOS session.
  • cd ( Change Directory )
  • dir (Listing of directories)
  • copy
  • del (deleting files)
  • edit
  • move
  • ren (rename)
  • deltree (Deleting the tree of files)
  • cls (Clearing screen)
  • format

MS-DOS top 10 commands

Usually most of the things are doing upon the graphical environment but somewhere,at error point or during some operation,the commands play a vital role to complete the operation or advance settings are configured by the DOS commands.

There are some commands, I want to show you some commands which are frequently used to operate the network related issues are Ping,Tracert,Ipconfig,Netstat,FTP,Telnet.

If you are going to present the assignment then you need to present the better commands related to network would be impressive but need to be clarify your self.

PING
The PING command is used to test the status of the network \ host.

Example:- ping 10.240.144.195 or you can use
C:\> ping - www.techarena.in -t

Format
This is used to format the partition on windows which is same as that you did it through the format option for particular drives in windows using right click option.

FORMAT volume [/FS:file-system] [/V:label] [/Q] [/A:size] [/C] [/X]
