| How to change the login screen in Fedora12?
Hello to all, I recently installed Fedora12 in my old computer. I think blue fedora login screen of Fedora12 is very boring. I want to change it with new interesting one, but I don't know how to do this. Can anyone tell me how to change the login screen in Fedora12 ? Any information will be helpful for me. Thanks in advanced. |

Hey as per my information you have to use Mac4Lin for your Fedora12 to change the login screen. The goal of this project is to bring the Mac OS X user interface to POSIX Operating Systems (GNU/LInux, FreeBSD, openSolaris etc.). The project is built for desktop environments based on GTK. You have to just install it to give interesting look for your Fedora12. You can get this product from the official site of Fedora12. |

I used following simple solution to change the login screen in Fedora12. I think you also use this to get rid out of this problem. First you have to removed GDM from your computer and then you have to install KDM in your computer. To do this use following command. Code: yum erase gdm |

As per myninfpormation there is no need to install nay software to change the login screen in Fedora12. You have to just use following setting to change the login screen in Fedora12. Just use it. First go to the following location. Code: /usr/share/backgrounds/constantine/default/constantine.xml That's it. |

Hey if you have gdm then you have to use gdm to change the login screen in Fedora12. To do this you have to just put ll your desired images into /usr/share/backgrounds/ and the you have to just run following command to fix this problem. Code: su gconftool-2 --direct --config-source=xml:readwrite:/etc/gconf/gconf.xml.defaults -t str -s /desktops/gnome/background/pictures_filename /usr/share/backgrounds/dm/0145.jpg >/dev/null |

Use following steps to change the login screen in Fedora12. Step 1 : Create following file: /etc/sysconfig/desktop Step2: Now add following line to above code: DISPLAYMANAGER=KDE Step3: Now restart your computer. Step4: Now Login and now use System setting option -> Now go to ADVANCE tab option -> Now go to LOGIN MANAGER option -> Now configure your KDM login screen. |
