    Hello,
There is a level of security by default which prevents access to fat and ntfs partitions users. Only root has access to it, it suffices to go down the level of security in your control panel in mandriva. The system which you are using , that is are you the root user of the operating system? If not then I do not think that you can do this. If you gain the root user permissions , then this can be possible.

    Hello,
I think i can help you a little in this
Issue the following commands in the terminal
    Code:
    $ su
This will ask you for a password, enter the password
    Code:
    # konqueror
hop and you're in as root and you can read your key. For solution you open the control center of mandriva and their you can find more help on the same. I guess you have understood the steps and you will follow the same.

    Hello,
I think that under the 2007, you can not directly launch a graphical application as root. You go into your user menu, system setup, control panel mandriva, safety and you should be able to choose your security level. it should be put on normal, this is maybe not exactly that I'm doing this from memory. I hope I am correct here, but what is the reason you what to try connecting the usb in that way, normally it opens up when you connect it to the port.

    Hello,
For the key I added a line in my
    Code:
    / etc / fstab
and I mounted the hand. OK I'm not running KDE, but this works for all , I guess. My line is
    Code:
    / dev/sdb1 / mnt /
removable vfat, user 0 0, Now it might be sda1. After you run the command mount / mnt / removable. Hope this will give you some idea about what is going on in the operating system.

    Hello,
I see no need to open a root assignment to read a key, better open the program needed to root security issue. But I did not even check if it was not possible for up konqueror tapes is even more powerful. I think you check for the same in the following location and for this you do not have to be an root user of the operating system.
    Code:
    ls # / media/sda1
If you have any more problems then you can post here and we will try to solve it.
