Mac maintains and sustains 802.11b and 802.11g. The first one 802.11b is an Older wireless networking customary. The greatest convey rate of 11Mb/sec. Reinstated by 802.11g. Mac PC are euiopped to support multiple standard. Like for example DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol). This is a client/server protocol running over TCP/IP, which allows a client to automatically obtain a valid I.P address for itself as well as the DNS & gateway servers address for Internet access. You can you this one.

DNS (Domain Name Service/System/Server ) is extensively supported on Mac system. DNS presents the IP address connected with the domain name. DNS is helpful for more than a few reasons. Most well known, the DNS makes it probable to attach easy-to-remember domain names (such as "macupgrades.co.uk") to hard-to-remember IP addresses (such as 212.227.77.248).

You can use LAN (Local Area Network) a single network inaccessible from the wider Internet. Home and diminutive office intranets are LANs. NAT (Network Address Translation) is also sustained and maintain for Mac. Attractive much all Broadband routers assign IP Addresses in the form of 192.168.blah.blah or 10.0.blah.blah to restricted computers. These ranges of IP addresses are held in reserve for local networks and are not suitable on the wider Internet.

Wireless security is the prevention of unauthorized access or damage to computers using wireless networks.

Wireless networks are very common, both for organizations and individuals. Many laptop computers have wireless cards pre-installed. The ability to enter a network while mobile has great benefits. However, wireless networking has many security issues.[1] Hackers have found wireless networks relatively easy to break into, and even use wireless technology to crack into wired networks[citation needed]. As a result, it's very important that enterprises define effective wireless security policies that guard against unauthorized access to important resources.[2] Wireless Intrusion Prevention Systems are commonly used to enforce wireless security policies.

Most wireless access points contain some type of MAC ID filtering that allows the administrator to only permit access to computers that have wireless functionalities that contain certain MAC IDs. This can be helpful; however, it must be remembered that MAC IDs over a network can be faked. Cracking utilities such as SMAC are widely available, and some computer hardware also gives the option in the BIOS to select any desired MAC ID for its built in network capability.
