Win7 Ultimate error code 0x80070002 and 80072EE2

Up until about 4 or 5 days ago everything worked fine but now I cannot download any microsoft updates or windows updates, in fact whenever I try to log onto the update site I get redirected to my IP homepage. I cannot download updates to my antivirus software either but I don't get re-directed from there, I get a free subscription from Suddenlink for McAfee and I removed the AV at the beginning of all this thinking that may have been the problem, now I don't have an AntiVirus prog on my system. I cannot update Window Defender either. I can log onto microsoft.com just fine just not the update page. I have tried everything in the forums that pertain to the two error codes and none of them have worked.
I have ran combofix, sfc, chkdsk /f /r, removed everything I have installed within the past week, re-run the windows experience index WEI, renamed the software distribution folders, went to a default HOSTS folder, stared for long periods at nothing, cursed, screamed, prayed...also went over all the event entries in the performance tools, searched for faulty devices, scanned for errors in event viewer, went to system information looking for software, component or hardware error,...all of this to no avail.
I have Windows 7 Ultimate which was upgraded from Vista.
I am using Interent Explorer 8
I am willing to try anything that I haven't already done or retry some of the things I have done, who knows maybe with someone directing me it we may get to the issue..does anyone out there know what the problem could be?? I really would appreciate any help..I know this is long and apologize

Maybe what you can do is rename a folder called SoftwareDistribution. Please refer the following article here. If the issue persists, please temporary disable or remove the anti-virus, anti-spyware and firewall. Then check the result again.
