task bar and task manager disagree

I have a few files open so closed them down. task bar says that they are still opne, Task manager says that they have been closed. Only way of making pc usable again is to restart it.

Tried reformatting and reinstalling everything. Most of files now stored on external hard drive.

    Any ideas.

This seems that the system been affected by a malware and hence it has affected the task manager. You need to perform a scanning wizard using a powerful antivirus and antimalware tool. Use Quick heal total security antivirus application. This may help to sort the issue.

Hello there, actually a boot scan has to be performed in this situation. This is surely the problem of an infection.

If not, then it is possible that some of the components of your system are having conflicts with one another because of which the task bar and task manager disagree. In this case, you will have to get rid of such conflicts to eradicate the issue.
